There's plenty of room for bad puns ready made for Chamois cremes. Back in the day when some of the staff at Localcycling.com started racing a lot of stuff you sat on was made of real leather. Treating the chamois with some kind of softner was essential. In today's world and synthetic things to sit on, it seems a less likely need. However, staff of both genders at localcycling have tried this product and found it quite beneficial. Let's face it, sometimes 'team shorts' don't have the same comfort and quality of materials as those $200 supershorts. We started using Chamois Butt'r Euro style on a

We've been fans of higher thread count clincher tires for a long time. The newsteam has used a number of Vittoria products over the years both tubular and clincher. A few years back when Vittoria released the original Diamante Pro (Pro being the Vittoria folks designation for 'folding') we were very impressed. A 220 TPI thread count gave it a very supple ride, maybe not quite as smooth as their flagshipo Corsa Open tubular series, but still very nice. Plus the tire had a more durable rubber compound, allowing a rider to get training mileage on a tire that was race worthy. We've recently tested the Diamante Pro 2, a slight upgrade over the original. The tires have that same supple…

Josh Crow, director of the HRRC/Trek Store teams sends this enthusiastic race report from the Tour of Kansas City: The RED & BLACK of HRRC / Trek Stores came out and dominated this weekend of racing with 2 victories in three days and the overall title for the MEN's PRO event! Brian Jensen won the first stage in downtown KCK and also won the next day at the Cliff Drive Classic in what can only be described as the most horriffic conditions to race in. Shadd Smith had high finishes each day and finished 3rd overall!! Shadd finished 2nd in the tough and hot downtown Overland Park Criterium. The average temperature for all three days was around 100 degrees. The attrition rate for each day was cloase to 50%, but every member of HRRC was able to remain a vital part of the race until the end. Over 1000 fans lined the sides of the roads to cheer, which is a testament to the loyalty of our fan base in Kansas City. Thanks for all of you who support us, we really appreciate everything you do!! Thanks also to the team this weekend: Brian Jensen, Josh Crow, Steve Tilford, Bill Stolte, Adam MIlls, Shadd Smith, Tony Wilhelm and Nick Coil! Click 'read more' for more action photos. |
