Vittoria Diamante Pro 2 Review

We've been fans of higher thread count clincher tires for a long time. The newsteam has used a number of Vittoria products over the years both tubular and clincher. A few years back when Vittoria released the original Diamante Pro (Pro being the Vittoria folks designation for 'folding') we were very impressed. A 220 TPI thread count gave it a very supple ride, maybe not quite as smooth as their flagshipo Corsa Open tubular series, but still very nice. Plus the tire had a more durable rubber compound, allowing a rider to get training mileage on a tire that was race worthy. We've recently tested the Diamante Pro 2, a slight upgrade over the original. The tires have that same supple…     Full Story

Dear Biking Community,

Words cannot properly express our family’s gratitude to all of you.  Since my accident on April 28th, I have received such generous donations, words of kindness, cards of encouragement, and bikers coming to our house to help me and my family.  We thank you for all you’ve done and especially for lifting us up in prayer.

I have received over $9,000 from the biking community.  Thank you does just not seem enough to say – my family and I are truly speechless.  Here’s how we are using your money.  Our master bath is being remodeling by two of our daughter’s gymnastic Dad’s to accommodate a wheelchair.  I will have a shower with a built-in seat, a laboratory that I can wheel under, and tile floors.  We’ll also need to change the carpet upstairs where I will wheel.  Our current carpet is like ‘quick sand’ to me.  Your money will pay for the supplies.

Saving for a piece of equipment to get for me at home where I will be able to do some kind of cardio is also in the plan.  We’re not sure which piece of equipment will be best for me, so we will carefully analyze, work with my physical therapist and then make a decision.  Janet would love to get me a nice hand bike, but I’m not sold on that idea yet.

I continue to fight pain on my left side and I am trying to get that under control.  My transfers are almost independent, I am responding to the electric stimulator, and I am doing great in the stand-up ski machine and treadmill.  It’s very slow progress but we hold on to the hope that I may stand and take a few steps within the year.

My family and I would like to invite you to stop by and see me and watch the Tour de France and have a beer on either July 25 (Wednesday) or July 27 (Friday).  I would love to see you.

Thank you for your goodness – we still get notes and surprises daily, and you have no idea how much this touches our family.

Hope to see you soon.

Sincerely
Eldon, Janet & Emma Roush
