Vittoria Diamante Pro 2 Review

We've been fans of higher thread count clincher tires for a long time. The newsteam has used a number of Vittoria products over the years both tubular and clincher. A few years back when Vittoria released the original Diamante Pro (Pro being the Vittoria folks designation for 'folding') we were very impressed. A 220 TPI thread count gave it a very supple ride, maybe not quite as smooth as their flagshipo Corsa Open tubular series, but still very nice. Plus the tire had a more durable rubber compound, allowing a rider to get training mileage on a tire that was race worthy. We've recently tested the Diamante Pro 2, a slight upgrade over the original. The tires have that same supple…     Full Story

Cyclocross Practice Opportunity
Kansas City Metro

The current local 'cross schedule includes some opportunites for 'show and go' practice at Herman Laird Park in Shawnee on Wednesday evenings. After a bit of consulting, several area cyclocross enthusiasts are suggesting we move things around a bit. Laird is a great facility, but could be a victim of local success. With over 50 riders competing for space while the little ones are still playing soccer and football on the infield, it's suggested that we give Laird a 2 week rest. It's likely that with a little rain this week, the City of Shawnee folks will drop a little grass seed down too.

Next Wednesday, the Boulevard Cup promoters are encouaging riders to come out to Wyandotte County Park for a little test run of that venue. Start time 5:30 PM, but if you're a little later there should be plenty of folks to ride with. We're also waiting to hear word from Bill Marshall about Tuesday sessions at Tiffany Springs, site of this year's Nationals. With park permission it should be a go at the same time as the Wednesday sessions.

As soon as a location is released for the following Wednesday we'll post. But we'll be back to Laird after a short pause.

It's been passed to the newsdesk that a number of local cyclocross enthusiasts will head over to Wyandotte County Park (site of last year's National Championship)on Sunday October 5th to ride the upcoming Boulevavard Cup course. Riders will be meeting about noon rather than the earlier 11 a.m. giving the crew a little more time to finish up mowing and grooming.
