A couple of things of interest to commuters: From our friend Noah: http://www.focushacks.com/kc-bike/commute.php And from the GKCBF: The Greater Kansas City Bicycle Federation in partnership with Wholefoods Market brings to midtown Kansas City the “Mocktail Hour” Every third Friday of each month, (August's 3rd fri is the 17th-tomorrow!) regardless of weather, the Greater Kansas Bicycle Federation offers free food, beverages and bicycle repair to area bicycle commuters. The “Mocktail Hour” is set up at the corner of Westport Road and Broadway (on the island at the Northeast corner) from 5-7PM. The Sunflowers to Roses ride is this Sunday at The Legends. Please encourage your friends to ride and support a great cause. This just in: "After three unsuccessful attempts to secure a course for the State Criterium on September 9, we unfortunately need to cancel the tentatively permitted event. We came close with two different options in Topeka, but both the police (downtown option) and city (Gage Park) have now said no....and we are out of time and resources to identify another alternative." |
