Not only are these folks sponsoring the opening cyclocross event of the year, but they've got a full schedule of cool events over the next two weekends; And for a great cause: Sunflowers To Roses. Please note that the venue for the cyclocross race is correct on the 'cross flyer.
The cyclocross race is a new 'pocket park' venue in Kansas City, Kansas: Stoney Point. Course design insiders are quoted as saying, "watch for some surprises in the layout." The last monthly training time trial at Gardner Airport for 2006 has been cancelled. Bruce Tanner of KCBC sends this: "I wanted to let you know that due to road construction on the TT course, I have decided to cancel the TT scheduled for Sept. 7th. I feel that the constuction makes the course too hazardous to safely hold the TT."
However, chrono-heads shouldn't despair, the Octoginta TT is scheduled for Sept. 30th.
The last scheduled Trek Store hill ride for this season was held last night. This challenging spin will be replaced by the Wednesday night cyclocross training rides through February. During the month of September 'crossers will meet at Herman Laird Park for clinics, then for the remainder of the season at the Trek Store for 6:30p.m. show-and-go cross workouts. Expect some intensity. |
