When this guy visits he gets an 8 story banner. Lance Armstrong was in Kansas City this week to kick off a promotion with  American Century Investments. You can see the deal at lanceface.com
In conjunction with the Lance Armstrong Foundation, American Century introduced a series of mutual funds, dubbed Livestrong Portfolios.  A portion of American Century’s investments in the funds will be paid annually to the foundation. The folks at American Century also founded the Stowers Institute, which Armstrong visited earlier this year. Photo Credit goes to Rick Chasteen, who woke to find Lance staring at him from across the street.

Our friends at the Sunflower to Roses hosting of Wired ToWin tell us that the crowd was well dressed and that a good time was had by all. Limousine to carpet photos with plunging necklines to follow. The Team X Crew asked the localcycling page to give a shout out that Mike Palitto has just moved into the Masters 40+ category. Aren't friends great?

Back in the day, before Localcycling.com a future news staffer climbs the dam hill.
After a hiatus, Trudi Rebsamen and the folks from Topeka are bringing back the Perry Road Races.Click here for the flyer.

Two race dates for the 2006 series. A good opportunity to test legs on a circuit with one significant hill and some rural roads. Tactics and wind often come into play on this lakeside course.

Curtis Martell has been sending updates of the metro racing schedule. We've noted that the fine Perry Lake Road Race Series has returned on March 5th and 12th. When fall returns, so does cyclocross in a BIG way. This looks to be the fullest 'cross calendar ever for the area, and our sources tell us there are more races to be posted.
