 Dean Parker. Photo by Bruce Edwards Wind, cold temperatures, sand and some water to splash around made for some tough cyclocross yesterday. The return to English Landing Park featured runups and sand sections that made the running a key component of the races. Here are photos from Bruce Edwards. More photos from Roger Harrison.Full results now posted! Cameron Chambers and Jennifer Herrell bested the Elite fields. The metro area has a full season of 'cross left with this weekend's Kansas State Championship, USCF Nationals, Epic Holiday Cyclocross and The Grote Prijs Shawnee. |

A reminder from Joe Fox of Cycle City: "We will be having Pre-registration for Sunday's Boss Cross #2 tomorrow (Thursday) evening from 7:00-9:00 at The Power Plant Brewery in downtown Parkville. Come hang out, drink some good beer, and save $5 on race entry." |

Riders from the KC area did well in Iowa: Jingle Cross Results. Those that stayed home continued the 'wearing in' of the upcoming nationals course with a 'training race'. This weekend features Boss Cross 2 at English Landing Park in Parkville. You can preregister for Boss Cross at the Power Plant Brewerey on Thursday night this week from 7-9 PM. Then the following weekend are the State Championship races for Kansas and Missouri. The big Nationals weekend is expected to draw 2000 riders, you can check the start lists out at the site. The Kansas State Championship is part of the DeStad Series, which will continue on to the final race: The Grote Prijs Shawnee. The rumor mill is buzzing about one other event, a new December 30th "Holiday Cross" race. Watch for a venue announcement, flyer and details later today. |
