We have to drag this one out for Halloween. Tonight is preregistration for this weeked's Capitol Cup and Boulevard Cup races. Check out the tasting room for Boulevard Brewing and (rumor) some new Belgian style beer. Details on the flyers (hint: look to the right hand side of the page for upcoming events). Here are the results from Boss Cross One. Also Mike Berning tells us that on Sunday after the 1/2/3 Men's race, there will be a costume lap. A nice Halloween tradition. Check out this video from last year: Part One. Part Two. And for our out of town readers, click on 'read more' below to find out the scoop on flying into KC for Nationals. Including some airfare rates. |

Over the Wood. Photo by Bruce Edwards Boss Cross One used an all new venue in Platte City. Plenty of hills, but plenty of fun on the technical turns. Awards, chilli, and raffle afterwards eased the pains in the legs and lungs. Photos here by Bruce Edwards. Photos here by the "Lanterne Rouge", super volunteer Roger Harrison. Watch for complete results.Just to the North, area racers were on the Elite Men's podium at the Nebraska Series. Brad Sullivan was at the top on Day One, Mark Studnicki was the winner Day Two. Some good pics on the DeStad page here and watch for complete coverage here on Nebraska Cycling News. Racing continues local with the Capitol Cup on Saturday and the Boulevard Cup on Sunday. This mini-series features a great new venue in Topeka and a chance to preview the nationals course on Sunday. Preregistration is offered in both cities: "Take care of registration for both the The Capital Cup in Topeka and the Boulevard Cup in KC by joining us at either Old Chicago, 1231 SW Wanamaker in Topeka on Wednesday, Oct. 24th from 6 – 8pm or the Boulevard Brewing Tasting Room (25th & Southwest Blvd.) on Thursday, Oct. 25th from 5 – 8pm." |

This weekend's resurrection of the Boss Cross Cyclocross is brought to you by long time promoter Jeremy Haynes. Mr. Haynes says the venue for this weekend's race in Platte City has some good hills, so this one may be a lung buster. Read the Press Release (click on 'read more' below). Don't forget the Wednesday Cyclocross practice in Shawnee is giving Herman Laird Park a one week rest. Join everyone in Riverside tomorrow. Details at the DeStad Cyclocross Van Kansas site. Oh yeah, Jeremy has a Myspace for the Boss Cross races here. |
