We're very impressed at the number of rides popping up aroung the metro. Monday offers what we at localcycling.com have been calling a 'recovery' ride for several years. It's a great night for a social ride that backs off the speed and distance (provided you've done hard/long or both over the weekend). It's also a great opportunity to mentor folks new to group rides. Check out KCBike.info's listing of these rides here. With fresh locations at Epic Bike and Sport north of the river and at Family Bicycles in Waldo, you're likely to find one within riding distance of where you live. |

A number of readers have asked us about the results for the USAC Kansas Category Championships (Criterium and Road Race) held in Pittsburg, but we haven't seen 'em. We've been watching the KCA site for those and this weekend's Masters Champs. One reader comments: "Directors of the Kansas Cycling Association: Any particular reason we are one week out from the *championship* event and without results? It really doesn't take much in this day and age, technically speaking. Record, type, forward. It does take commitment, however. Clearly there is a lack of one or the other as we are, again, without results. Please remedy on behalf of the racers, observers, and community of Quality." |

The Epic Time Trial presented by Defined Fitness Training just squeaked in under the heavy weather: Results. and this note: "Thank you to everyone that braved the unpredictable weather last night to come out to Gardner and participate in our time trial. We were really sorry we had to postpone the event by a week so thanks for everyone's patience with the new date. We hope the participants all enjoyed some RUMBA and congrats to the category winners and to Craig for winning the Spiuk TT helmet!" Megan M. Hottman, Owner & Team Director,

Bargains! This Saturday, after the Scooters Ride, the News Team is holding a garage sale. We have lots and lots of lovingly used team wear from the many race teams we've been part of: Jerseys, longsleeve jerseys, skinsuits, jackets and shorts. Sizes S-XL, but the majority is medium or large. Some brand new items too. Every piece of clothing is marked at $10. KCBC, BRBC, Pedros, LBCR, and Museum are a few of the teams represented. There are a few pieces of non team wear too. Beefing up your team kit or just looking for cheap to add to the closet. We'll also have a few select parts for sale too, handlebars, brand new Campy 10 speed 12-23 cassette and stuff, also priced cheap. Where at? The backyard of 5727 Garnett in Shawnee, Kansas (right by the Grote Prijs Shawnee cyclocross park). Noon to 5. |

We're watching the weather, but as far as we know tonight's Epic Time Trial (presented by the Defined Fitness Training Team) is still a go. For those looking for an indoor activity: you can stay inside and enjoy the Cycling Team Special at Re:Verse instead. Drink and appetizer specials for all of you racer folks. Just tell 'em which team you're on. |
