Click here for the details. An alumni of these events, Kelly Benjamin, entertains us with tales of criteriums at the elite level, in her rider diary. |

The newsdesk learned that fellow rider and cross racer/promoter, Mike Berning was in an accident on Wednesday morning on his usual commute to work. Rumor has it that a nasty manhole cover at 27th & Main reached up and grabbed Mike's wheel, throwing him from his bike and causing a broken pelvis. Mike is resting and plotting revenge at St. Lukes hospital, probably through the weekend. |

Chris Hess sends this incentive for those considering Perry: "Climb for the cash on March 5! Sprint-climb primes of $10 - $30 will be awarded at the Perry Lake Spring Road Series, provided by sponsor Anam Gathering. These primes will be announced randomly and available to all categories except Juniors and Category 5. Anam Gathering is an athletic fellowship that meets twice per month. The group also sponsors events, including the Kansas 2005 state championships (road, criterium and cyclocross) as well as the Tour of Kansas City."
