Bruce Edwards captures the start at Boss Cross. Boss Cross One was held Saturday at Tiffany Springs Park, the site of the upcoming National Championship. Folks from around the region in all categories came to KC to preview the course. RESULTS here and good reviews from Steve Tilford here and Sydney Brown here. Some nice helmet cam from Gary Calton in the Men's 45+ here.Roger Harrison made the trip to Columbia, MO for the "Sam The Eagle Cyclocross", his photos can be found here. The next race on the Local cyclocross calendar is Veteran's Cross. Check the contact info on the flyer, and if you're a veteran and planning to race, give Roger a shout. If you need a tuneup the day before, how about a gravel road race in Lawrence? |

This Sunday's scheduled cyclocross is a 'no go': "Late this week I was informed the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks has put a hold on all special events at Clinton Lake State Park for the rest of the year, and likely into 2009. This affects the cyclo-cross race planned for Sunday. All Special Events (even those held on paved areas but excepting events on the trails) have been put on hold “to allow the park grounds to sufficiently recover from the Wakarusa Festival”. This left no time to secure a new venue before Sunday November 2. I immediately approached the Army Corps of Engineers and another local promoter to make secondary arrangements as I have everything I need for a race, but no venue and now no date. I’m optimistic the race resources will be used at another venue on another date in 2008 but there will not be a race at Clinton Lake State Park this weekend. Curtis Martell" |

Sunday Nov. 2nd is Sunflower Cyclocross at Clinton Lake. |
