Defending Elite National Cyclocross Champion, Todd Wells, will compete at this weekend's KLM UCI Cyclocross in Kansas City.  Riders from around the region will be using Sunday's event as a tuneup for the USCF National Cyclocross Championships in Providence beginning December 15th. Wells will be a favorite in a  star studded field that will include last year's KLM Champion, Steve Tilford. Sunday is the second day of racing on the fast European style course. Saturday is the Missouri State Championship with a full range of categories. Both events feature a festival like atmosphere including a beer tent. KLM director, Bill Marshall, is encouraging anyone not racing to, " Come out and join the fun, enjoy the free beer and see some of the best riders in the United States!"

For those wishing to race, Online registration closes Wednesday at Midnight CST. There will be a final opportunity for Late Registration/Packet Pick-up December 1^st at the Trek Bicycle Store of Kansas City  from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Please note that you must have an ANNUAL USAC license for these events. No one day license riders will be allowed. You can purchase annual licenses in advance at www.usacycling.org or at the packet pickup on Friday. The KLM folks note that for 2007 events including the National Championship, registration will be on-line only. For full details of this weekend's schedule go to the Official Site.

St. Louis, MO. On Saturday December 16th, Mesa Cycles, located at 1035 S. Big Bend, will host the third annual cycling photography exhibition featuring work from cutting edge local and national photographers Matt James, Eric Fillcoff, Dan Elavsky and Kurt Jambretz.  The exhibit will feature printed works, short films, and presentations documenting bicycle racing and it’s unique culture. The artists will be in attendance for this very limited engagement from 6 to 10 pm Saturday December 16th. New Belgium Brewing co. and Northwest Coffee will provide the evening’s refreshment.
 
The exhibit is focused on regional bicycle racing and culture featuring several Midwest cycling teams and racers from St. Louis, Kansas City and Columbia. Most work will be available for sale, providing a unique gift option for the holidays.
 
Mesa Cycles, a full service bicycle shop in Richmond Heights that specializes in comprehensive bicycle sales and service, is proud to be transformed into a gallery space for one night to display the cycling photography exhibit.
 
The exhibition is open to the public FREE OF CHARGE.
