Read This from the folks putting on CX Nationals: "CYCLOCROSS NATIONALS REGISTRATION CLOSES SATURDAY; BOULEVARD BREWING COMPANY SIGNS ON AS SPONSOR Kansas City, Kan. (Dec. 6, 2007) – Registration for this year’s USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships in Kansas City, Kan., closes this Saturday, Dec. 8 at midnight CST. Registration is only available through the official event website, www.kccrossnationals.com. No on-site registrations are allowed, all entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable and no exceptions will be made. As of Thursday, 1,916 racers had registered for the Dec. 13-16 event at Kansas City’s Wyandotte County Park. When the championships were last held in Kansas City seven years ago, only 600 riders participated. Since then, cyclocross series have sprouted all over the country, and this high-adrenalin winter season sport is now the fastest growing segment of bicycle racing in the United States. Last year, 1,940 riders registered to compete at the national championships in Providence, R.I. Nearly 40 races will take place over four days of competition. Non-championship and beginner-level races are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 13. Age group national championship races are Friday and Saturday, Dec. 14-15. Single-speed, collegiate and elite men’s and women’s races are Sunday, Dec. 16. Boulevard Brewing Company, the largest specialty brewer in the Midwest, has signed on as an official event sponsor. Boulevard will provide a case of beer to each new national champion, and several brews will be available on tap in the Expo. “We are proud to have Boulevard continue its long-time support of the sport of cycling by being part of our event,” said Race Director Bill Marshall of KLM Marketing Solutions. “The Boulevard Brewing Company is well known here in the Midwest and this is the perfect opportunity to expose its variety of beers to a national audience.” Boulevard joins over 15 other official sponsors of this year’s event. More information, and the opportunity to purchase official race apparel, is available at www.kccrossnationals.com." |

Here's a little cyclocross in the neighborhood: "Don’t forget, the next race in the ICCS is this weekend on Sunday November 11th in Moline, IL. Well, it is here again, the next race in the Iowa Cyclocross Series…in the Quad Cities, Illinois. On November 11th will be having race number eight of nine total. We normally have this race at Green Valley Park in Moline, IL but late summer flooding from the Rock River made the park a mess and too much to clean up. So, we got busy and found another park to hold our event. The map to Stephens Park is here http://dicetraining.com and you will also see the race flyer there as well. If you had ever done the famed Moline Criterium…the park is right off of 7th Street Moline, just north of the start/finish line in the Belgium area of Old Towne, Moline. New this year is on-line registration with Get Me Registered and you can get to that right here https://secure.getmeregistered.com/get_information.php?event_id=811. Within Get Me Registered, we also have a course map to view as well. Registration opens at 9am and the first race starts at 10:30am for those that don’t pre-register. Come out, race the new course, or view a very friendly spectator course, and have some fun! Speaking of family fun, there is a playground area for the kids, sand volleyball courts and a big fire pit for those that want to bring some firewood and have a big fire. In the woods around the north side of the park, there is also a small network of single-track mountain bike trails. There is plenty of food and spirits in the area for after race refueling. If you’ve never had a Belgium Village VandeRuben or the VandeRaisin your in for a treat, come out and try a regional favorite!! All race info can be found at… www.DiceTraining.com www.dicecycling.com www.GetMeRegistered.com |
