Vittoria Diamante Pro 2 Review

We've been fans of higher thread count clincher tires for a long time. The newsteam has used a number of Vittoria products over the years both tubular and clincher. A few years back when Vittoria released the original Diamante Pro (Pro being the Vittoria folks designation for 'folding') we were very impressed. A 220 TPI thread count gave it a very supple ride, maybe not quite as smooth as their flagshipo Corsa Open tubular series, but still very nice. Plus the tire had a more durable rubber compound, allowing a rider to get training mileage on a tire that was race worthy. Imagine over 35,000 riders competing in a single event. Definitetly part race/definitely part tour. Cycling Studio Guru, Brennan Shirk is taking a group to South Africa in March. Click on the 'read more' for detail on this event that is part of the UCI Golden Jersey Program. The UCI calls these events 'racing for all'. Grand Fondo's in Italy are the same type of event. Usually chip timed and participated in by athletes from former pros to raw newbies. The nearest similar event we have in our area would be the Hotter n' Hell Hundred in Wichita Falls.

Join Induro Cycling Studios, Inc.and trainer Brennan Shirk on a trip to Cape Town, South Africa. A group of local Kansas City cyclists are taking the adventure of a lifetime. Some participants are riding this socially while others plan on making this a very competitive test of true grit. Along with 35,000 other participants we plan on dividing into teams according to cycling levels and personal goals. The ride is a 106 km (55.83 mile) tour of the beautiful Cape peninsula.

Prepare to be awed by both the Atlantic and Indian Ocean seaboard. The route begins in the heart of downtown Cape Town. Enjoy the next two stages traveling on the scenic backside of Table Mountain. The following three stages travel along the False Bay of the Indian Ocean. The next four stages travel through the Table Mountain National Park and Nature Reserve followed by six stages along the Atlantic Seaboard!!! Finishing at Green Point back in the metropolitan area of Cape Town! Amazing as all this sounds, the actual treat of this tour is the international flavor and social experiences that only a trip of this caliber could provide. Not only are you cycling with close friends of Kansas City but how about riding with cyclists from all over the world!!

Personal trainer and cycling coach Brennan Shirk is providing an eight week training program for all participants. Owner of Induro Cycling Studios, Inc. Brennan invites you to his state of the art virtual cycling studio where you will train on the actual Cape Argus route shown on a 133” HD screen with soundtracks played on a hearty 7.1 diamond surround system. Ride either your road or mountain bike (slicks required) with your indoor trainer or ride one of the Lemond RevMasters that are supplied by the studio. Combine this with an eight week personal training program sport specifically designed by I.C.S Training Systems. The cycling training includes hill climbing, wind resistance, and cadence training. Also supplied with this training package is your own Cape Argus Training DVD for home/personal use. This is a great opportunity for you to ride in the one of the world’s largest bike tours with an experienced rider and previous resident of Cape Town. Brennan lived and cycled in South Africa for over a year and a half and competed in the 2004 Cape Argus and is offering to train you so that you can participate in the 2007 tour with all the confidence in
