Vittoria Diamante Pro 2 Review

We've been fans of higher thread count clincher tires for a long time. The newsteam has used a number of Vittoria products over the years both tubular and clincher. A few years back when Vittoria released the original Diamante Pro (Pro being the Vittoria folks designation for 'folding') we were very impressed. A 220 TPI thread count gave it a very supple ride, maybe not quite as smooth as their flagshipo Corsa Open tubular series, but still very nice. Plus the tire had a more durable rubber compound, allowing a rider to get training mileage on a tire that was race worthy. We've recently tested the Diamante Pro 2, a slight upgrade over the original. The tires have that same supple…     Full Story

Serious Crash at Velotek GP PDF Print E-mail
Written by Mark Thomas
Monday, 30 April 2007

The localcycling news team have received some news on the serious accident at this weekend's stage race in Lawrence:

Walt Blesser of the KCOI team send this:

As many of you know, two riders went down in the  criterium at the VeloTek Grand Prix. Although I was not a witness to the crash, I was one of the first to stop and see Eldon Roush sprawled out in the grass afterwards...
Eldon was Life-Flighted to KUMED at 39th and Rainbow in KCKS.
I got word tonight that Eldon had emergency surgery tonight to repair to fractured vertebrae ....I heard that the doctors knew of no spinal chord injury, and that the vertebrae were to be fused together...I also heard Eldon could move his feet (but not confirmed).
I will try to update you as I hear more info.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
4.30.07:
I visited Eldon last night in the ICU. He had just come out of a surgery that involved placing a filter in one of his major arteries to prevent blood clots that may from in his legs from reaching his heart, like what happened to Derrick Thomas. Eldon conscious, but very weak and out of it.
I hope many of you can visit him this week.

Thanks.

Walter F. Bleser II, PE
