"Save the Date: GP VeloTek's 2nd Annual Banquet and Silent Auction announced!
Our 2nd Annual Banquet and Silent Auction, fundraising for our trip to
Junior Nationals, will be on Saturday, January 28th, at 7 p.m., with
the silent auction opening at 6:30 p.m.
GP VeloTek is excited to have Ben Jacques-Maynes as our guest speaker,
a road racing professional with Kodakgallery.com/Sierra Nevada
Pro Cycling Team. Ben is a previous US National Team member, and is one
of the top up-and-coming talents in North American cycling, having
excelled in mountain biking, cyclocross, and road racing over the
years. In 2004, Ben broke through with his first major stage race
win at the Nature Valley Grand Prix in Minnesota. Prior to that,
Ben's greatest results had come on the cyclocross circuit, where he won
the U.S. title in the Under-23 division in 2000 and the U.S. collegiate
title in 2002. He also snared a collegiate national title on the
road, winning the criterium championship in 2003. www.jacquesmaniacs.com.
Last year's event had a sold out crowd of more than 200, and thanks to
the generosity of the local cycling community, 12 Team GP VeloTek
juniors were able to participate at Junior Nationals this past summer
in Park City, Utah, with all trip expenses paid. Growing the
sport one rider at a time takes an entire community, and we greatly
appreciate your support!
