The last time we had a Republican Governor we had a major professional bicycle race, The Tour of Missouri.
Now that those political winds have shifted again, by an executive order (and working with BlowingWind Sports), Governor Eric "Greeting" Greitens has announced a revived Tour de Trump for 2018. For those of you old enough to remember, the original Trump Tour was in 1989 and morphed into the Tour de Pont. This was a Big League race with so much prize money, so much.
While not a lot of concrete details have been released about the route, the press release indicated that the UCI has granted the race Pro Tour status, and in a 'nod and a wink' to American Flyers has already sent an invitation to Katusha Alpecin.
