Coming up: Flint Hills Express

Sunday offers an excellent chance to test your road race skills on the classic Baldwin City Road Race course. While only offering one event, rather than a stage race this year, it should be enought to get your heart rate up. More info at our friends over at www.kcbike.com

Roger Harrison points out that the cyclocross season isn't that far away. The DeStad Van Kansas Series has announced dates here. The localcycling.com news team is always excited about 'cross. Mr. Daems great website. Dig around for more cool cycling photos and some very cool clogs. We can bring you some back!

Click on the READ MORE below for the complete results of today's Capp's - Rebound Time Trial. Roger Harrison has photos up here. Hey, Roger does a fantastic job helping out at local cycling events and could use a little help at a fund raiser he's involve with:

"Each year I swim one mile, 33.3 laps in a pool to raise funds for Arthritis.  This year is kind of special since my knee scope, I am really experiencing what people have, not as bad as many of them.  I have put my link for donations on there if you care to donate.  See you on Saturday at the Turn Around and for those going south, good luck.  For those who have already donated, thank you. http://penguinpaddle.kintera.org/lanternerouge "

This is event is so large that it has to be held over two nights! A short little jaunt around the outside of the Kansas Speedway for some, an intense 4KM pursuit for others. Phil Gronniger set a record on Wednesday night. Those racing on Thursday faced some tougher winds. Results here. Some nice photos from our friend Michael McGarry here.
Check out our St. Louis news page to see how KC area riders did in the Iowa events over the weekend. Overland Park's Kelly Benjamin came close to pulling off the win at one of America's oldest classics: Somerville.
There are still plenty of great activities around the metro, including tonight's Ride Of Silence. Click here for the full schedule.
Phil Mann repeats as Division 1 Criterium Champ. The defending National Champion races for Colorada State University. Chris Hall forwarded the news to folks here in KC with the comments that "this was a very emotional win for Phil, who tragically lost his brother shortly after last year's race." More details to come on area athletes at the championships.
