Two events on the local calendar:
State Track Race (Velodrome) for Saturday 7/24. Come watch this unique championship. There will be free beer.
Sunflower Games Mountain Bike on Sunday 7/25. Good dirt.
A good friend of ours, Joe Parker, came home to a nasty surprise; a fleet of nice bikes stolen from his house. Parker is missing a 2010 Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL3, black and white with SRAM components and a pair of Cosmos wheels.
A Ridley Crossfire, red and black with Chorus and a brand new Windsor Clockwork (black) fixie were also taken. All bikes are 54cm. The thief targeted almost entirely bike stuff, making off with a set of Zipp 404 cyclocross with Challenge Criterium tires glued on as well as the bikes.
We at the news desk think that based on the items targeted by the burglar (and the items NOT swiped) that this bad guy is likely 'in to bikes'. Help Joe out if you spot something that might be his: 816 522-5344 or call the KCMO police.
